Based in New York City , David Libby is a pianist and composer with a broad spectrum of professional experience. He played keyboards for two National Broadway tours ( Kiss Me Kate and Beauty and the Beast), and he has worked on the national tours of Hairspray, Oliver!, Annie and The Wedding Singer ( among others). He has also written music for films that have appeared in festivals throughout the United States . He scored the 2005 short film Super Power Blues (by filmmaker Greg Pak), which was commissioned and broadcast by PBS affiliate WNET in New York . David also scored 12 online episodes of Marvel Comics characters The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, and Spiderman. He composed and orchestrated the music on the CD Immigrant , which was recently voted in the top ten Eastern European Folk CDs of 2005. David has also performed with legendary jazz artists Bobby Watson, Mickey Roker, Marty Morrell, and Brad Terry.

David holds a B.A. from Bowdoin College , where he studied composition with avant garde icon Elliot Schwartz. He later received his M.M. in Jazz Studies from Rutgers University , where he studied with jazz piano legend Kenny Barron. Professor Barron also chose David to receive a scholarship, to be his Teaching Assistant, and to lead a jazz quintet representing the University's outreach program. David was also a New Jersey Council on the Arts Visiting Artist in 1994-95.

David works regularly in New York as an audition and rehearsal pianist for national Broadway tours, and he has served as Music Director for several professional regional productions. He owns and operates BroadwayDemo.com, which produces vocal demos and websites for musical theatre performers.
